H3 06 H3 for sale with Rancho lift

I had the motor go and ended up getting a 3.7 to swap. Payed someone I know to do it in my garage over the weekends and that person completely abandoned the work. It’s mostly installed but needs to be completed. Had someone else look it over and they say it may be missing hardware. What would I be able to get out of this if I put it for sale?

Leather interior great condition. Will need new tires and ball joints

Without knowing any details about the "mostly" and the "missing hardware", I wouldn't touch it. I tell people to never buy a vehicle that isn't running; I guarantee that there is more wrong than what the owner claims.

I’m not claiming anything. I’m clearly not a mechanic and cant see what’s exactly needed to finish other than the replacement engine is sitting in the vehicle now but can tell the engine harness was ran but not connected, I can go over it with a serious buyer. I’m selling because mechanics I’ve reached out too have your mentality and don’t want to touch it without even looking it over because someone else started it or they want to way over charge because that same reason. I’m in no rush to sell but would like my garage back.

IIRC the 3.7L swap from a 3.5L isn’t that complicated. What year is the 3.7l? Something something exhaust/intake manifold, valve cover and swapping a phaser. Badland industries may be the guy to talk to if you still have interest in resurrecting this project.

Probably why there is an issue, even the 07 version of the 3.7 needs to have parts reused from the 06 but it is minimal. Not knowing this would cause a headache. Might consider reaching out to Badlands Industries in Nevada (I think). He has TONS of knowledge of these swaps. https://www.badlandindustries.com/

3.7l did come off a 07 and that may be the case. Instead of admitting he ran into unfamiliar territory he would throw out excuses why he can’t make it over until he just stopped

Don't take my comment above personally; I'm not suggesting that you are "claiming" anything. I'm simply stating the fact that I personally wouldn't touch it. But I have no desire for a "fix-it" project, especially when I don't know exactly what needs "fixing". Many people will feel the same.

I'm 64 and have spent my life working on my own vehicles; 2-wheels, 3-wheels, 4-wheels, from toys to vehicles to RVs, so I'm relatively competent. My SIL will occasionally tell me that he found a motorcycle/car/etc for a really great price...owner says all it needs is an alternator (or some other relatively easy/cheap part). My answer is always the same: If that's all that's wrong with it, the owner would replace that himself and sell it for significantly more money. Never buy a vehicle that you cannot drive.

Again, I'm not suggesting that you are in that category of "sellers", just that your buyers won't know whether you are or aren't. And without knowing exactly what is still needed to get it on the road, it will be hard to guess at a price; which is what you asked for in your original post. In any case, good luck with it.

2007 had a mid year change in the engine and other components. For example, it went from a cone air filter to flat. The PCM changed, I believe. The early 07s should be an easier swap than the later 07s.
