Okay i thought i would start a thread where we can share some of are encounters with bad drivers or other idiots on the road. Ill start, today i was driving to the gas station to fill up the suburban i was about 3000 feet from the stop light when some lady started jay walking across the street so i started slowing down just incase she didnt start running across, i noticed she wasnt running, she was just calmly walking across the street still. so slowing down even more im about 200 feet from this lady, almost at a complete stop, she stops in the middle of the lane.....to tie her shoe. I didnt even honk, i just stopped and stared at the biggest IDIOT in the world. i was shocked by her stupidity, she is now the stupidest person i have ever seen in my whole life.

I have lost count of how many times people seem to think it's a great idea to pull out into the street right in front on the '97, or cut right in front of me on the freeway.

Good news is people usualy make room for me when I want to move over into another lane :)

On the way back from AZ on the 40 a young girl in a Lexus cut across from the fast lane to hit an off ramp. H3 A pillers are a huge blind spot almost didn't see her...guess my reflexes are still ok.

oh when driving the suburban im hated by 90% of the drivers on the road because im like, yea my car is 10x bigger than your civic, get out of my way. the best part is when you get tailgaters on a one lane road, i just slow down to like 5 below the limit and set cruise control. then when my turn comes i slow down to like 5 mph and slowly make the turn. i love it!

In general for all the stuff that society as a whole manages to screw up, I think that (again-- as a whole), people are generally pretty good drivers. The only logical conclusion from my thinking that has to be that I must be one of the bad ones.

too many stories per day for me to contribute here.

but I can say one of the worst was I was in the back of an ambulance with a patient while the my partner was going Code 3 (lights and sirens) to the ER and some homeless guy just jay-walks in front of us. we come to a complete stop. he stops and stares at us (our lights and sirens still going). then he slowly continues crossing the street.

ran into way too many today...Rain+California drivers=diaster. About 5-7 miles from my exit on the 5 freeway is the gate to where they close down the grapevine due to snow. On my way home from work today I had a feeling it was closed when I noticed it was 37 and raining hard and still a good 10+ miles away from the grapevine, I called home and was told the grapevine was closed due to snow and there were problems with the people going up the grapevine before closure. Something like a 24 car pileup. Snow+California drivers=bigger disaster.

Many years ago I was going home on a two lane road w 55mph speed limit around 11 pm.There were no street lights in a lightly populated section of the road. I went through a turn and came within a couple of feet of running over a guy wearing black, sitting in the middle of the road taking off his pants.....

Okay, i have a good one from last night. it felt like i was in a Bourne movie car chase. last night after cruising through taco bell with my friend in his car (honda accord v6) we were driving to the exit of the parking lot and this guy comes flying out of one of the parking rows and cuts us off. my friend taps the horn and throws his hands up in (what the **** are you doing kinda way). this guy slams on his brakes (hes in a dodge ram 1500 hemi) and just starts staring at us, so my friends like this guy is crazy, and puts his car in reverse and drives towards the other exit on the other side of the parking lot. All of a sudden when starting to turn to go out the exit here is the guy in his dodge ram coming in the exit flooring it straight at us head on! my friend slams his car in reverse and punches it and does a j turn and slams it into drive and starts flooring it across the parking lot, and im looking behind us and this guy is right on us, so my friend sees another exit punches it and starts flying towards the exit, pulls this beast drift move and slides out of the exit on to this main street, and floors it, im watching behind us as were flying down the street and i see another dodge ram pull out of the parking lot and floor it after us (the two dodge guys were friends apparently), my friend quickly cuts into a restaurant parking lot and cuts out another entrance. We ended up flooring it down this main street and didnt stop till we got home and clicked the garage door button and watched the door close all the way. it was pretty crazy.

Y'all have obviously never driven an Isuzu Amigo...that is the car I traded out of to get my Hummer & felt like I could see perfect finally. So, good for me I guess.

This thread would be easier if you were asking about the driving experience where you didn't come across idiot drivers, or maybe it's just Texas, There are so many everyday, so I will pick one of hubbys cause he is evidently an idiot driver, illegal alien, no insurance magnet:

Truck stuck in ditch on 2 lane highway, during day, where it had rained heavily day before. Traffic stopped in both directions so hubby could assist to pull truck out. There were at least 5 cars stopped in each direction. Luckily daughter (13) stayed in truck with seat belt on. No sooner than hubby stepped away from truck telling daughter to stay in, does IDIOT hit side of hubby's truck where he was just standing (within 2 seconds literally. IDIOT, in an 80's celica, hits truck so hard it spins truck around 2 times. Daughter taken to hospital but ok. Witnesses stated this IDIOT was doing about 50-60 mph, never hit brakes, went around the stopped cars & plowed right into hubbys truck. Then said IDIOT tries to get out of car to flee. Luckily for him witnesses got to him before hubby did. IDIOT fractured collar bone, 3 ribs, wrist & hand, & hit head on steering wheel. Here's the kicker, this was the IDIOT's 3rd DWI (yes he was drunk again), driving on a suspended license in a car parents let him use regardless of suspension & knowing his history, no insurance, & he was 19.

This was the 3rd time hubby's trucks had been totalled like this with it not being his fault within the past 2 years.

Darwin is rolling in his grave..

Every time I see or hear of the stupid things people do, I am amazed at the thought that they actually represent the strongest genes of their line. I say frock it, hit the gas, thin the herd. Less for me to worry about.

Texting while driving is my biggest pet peeve. I live in a college town and it is rampant here. Please just turn it off if you don't have the will power do ignore it when it alerts. VA just made it a primary offense so you can be pulled over and fined after July 1. Before it was a seconday offense and you could only be ticketed it you were stopped for another reason. I am usually pretty conservative when it comes to the Government getting into your affairs, but I think this change in the law can be beneficial.

And talking on the phone!!! It f.u.c.k.i.n.g annoys the **** out of me!!!! i had some ******* cut me off today and then slam on his brakes when i honked at him. i pulled up next to him and told him to get his sorry ass off the damn phone and pay attention to driving the car. I personally think if you are caught texting or talking on the phone while driving (talking without a bluetooth or handsfree system). the officer has the right to take your phone and they will mail it back to you or you can drive down to the local police station the next day and pick it up. That rule alone would help cut down on a lot of people doing it. They have that rule implemented in schools, if your caught texting in class, the teacher can take it away and send it to the office. Then your parents have to come and pick it up. Your in the class room to learn, not text your BFF on the other side of the class room! Just like your in your car to drive and only drive, not worry about what your BFF thinks of your Facebook status.

Kyle, while agree on both causing me great anxiety, I dont support the governments ability to violate the Forth Amendment to control it. Instead of taking property, how about a $100 fine the first time and a $1,000 the second. Achieves the same goal without giving up another right, because the rest will follow...

In south Florida, Texting and talking on the phone are way too common, you can even see a woman doing her makeup. Almost everyone speed. If you drive under speed limit, they will honk at you or just be rude to you.

I shouldn't even have to explain the cause of the delay that is posted on the sign....

I don't hate prius's, just the ones in the left lanes doing 45 consistently for over 50 miles.....
