I'm thinking really HARD to get chrome handles and mirro cover just like Bigunit! Idk something about just a hint of chrome gets me going!!!!
I know I'm a lil late to the party but just wondering if there was another set available.
I took them off when I got my gobi and was going to try and sell them but if you would like them, you can have them. If you wanna send me a pm with your infor for shipping. I proly won't get a chance to get them out til sometime next week thought.
Easier than I expected, would have been nice have had another hand, but i did it all in about an hour by meself.

What do you mean by this? I got this because I was wheeling over loose rocks. I wheeled mine over loose rocks on the 06 and then the 08 Alpha many times and have finally added protection under the transfer case and I think this OEM stuff is good, just needs a couple of cross pieces.
I have a set of the BA new sittin here that still needs a couple of cross pieces to finish it up so I don't have to start from scratch on a new set.
I just want to try the different design for awhile, and redo my last minute in place mod of the OEM I did before a trip.
Can't get my fabricator going on several projects.
Just for reference here are both kinds, for those that have not seen them. The OEM I sort of tacked on some pieces until I have time to do it better. It uses square tubing for all of it.
The BA uses round tube and square tube for the cross pieces and adds a bar up front that I think was needed on the other but still left out the transfer case protection and needs to be modded for better protection. I got to fishmouth some tubing inserts on that to keep them flush and be able to weld them up good.

Thank you Dave, that's what I meant to say...only I'm not too good with words...I too think the OEM stuff is good, just needs a couple of cross pieces and you will be just fine.
Ha ha well I am going to remove that big plate and place two recessed cross pieces right under the transfer case and extend another strip down the other side to keep bowling ball size rocks from sneaking up on the other side of the transfer case and protect the shift cable on the auto tranny.
I'm just experimenting, I gotta keep busy!

I was just asking in case you did mean something else and I was missing it.
The BA stuff needs work too.
I had some design ideas 6 months ago but my fab guy is all tied up with Snap On. Shows he must do good work. They commissioned him to make some tool boxes and have him maxed out.
I passed on some of those ideas as CBPhoto had a place that could get on it and had some ideas to upgrade the UPC. Hopefully that will proceed and others will get some good stuff.
I will plod along in my own way with these two and if I come up with something people can just apply to what they have I will see about offering a "kit" of pieces to add on for those that do not have the stuff to do it. Then they can just have a muffler shop do some light welding to beef it up.
The BA will be a little more labor to cut and fishmouth the tubes but if I can jig it up in my drill press I can make the fit tight.
It looks like it's up to us to keep these things going and protect the vitals.

OK just checked, one left in the warehouse $300 shipped (lower 48). glpd74 has expressed interest but I havent heard back yet so it might still be up for grabs....
