Oh i'm totally jealous. Spent all morning ordering more lights and looking for the most ridiculous offset wheel and spacer combo I could possibly find and still fit in a parking space.

Big pimpin.. I’d like to know what awards he’s picked up? Like what category does this even fall under?

Heres Skyquacker in 2 inches of sand.

I stand humbled. I give him props for at least giving an effort to hit the dirt. The side canopy and roof top tent give some indication of effort but the show truck style of his 3 limits his off road adventures and will quickly need repairs. Those hubs must be toast after a few thousand miles.

A for effort, and off roading is about having a good time.
That said, If my rig puts me in a situation like this I’d probably rethink my entire off road setup.

And its another thing all together for the ones having to pull him out every time the trail gets uneven. I’d imagine the trip organizers want a couple thousand more likes on their group page.

I speak only for myself of course, dude might be a ton of fun to be around, its the neon lights & license plate that brought out my inner troll.

He's a good guy, he knows people bash his rig and he loves it lol he along with everyone else knows it's a pavement princess. Not my taste but slap on some real tires & lockers and lose some of the bs and it would be a cool overland rig

Here are a few photos from today work on this project:

1st pic is making adjustments to the original design and testing for clearance

2nd pic is 95% done the circle plate to fill in the void of the 5" round fog light hole that will be left behind when the OEM units are removed

3nd pic is the gluing the templates to the steel that they will be cut out of, since the print out is to scale I thought I would give this method a try

Tomorrow I will finish up the brackets & then paint them, then come Sat the STARR HID headlight & these new fog lights will be installed

I would have completed this project this weekend if I didn't have a bunch of yard work to do as well (part of living in the PNW... still cutting grass in January) and the bolts I had on hand to mount the lights ended up being just a tad short.

I got as far as finishing the brackets and test fitting them in the OEM bracket taking note as to if they retained their adjustability or not - it works perfectly!

Here is a pic of how it all looks prior to mounting the lights, tomorrow I will get 1/4" longer bolts and get the light mounted and aimed and the project will be a wrap

Back to real life now.

i took my base 06 out to public lands by my house to verify if my CV was making noise or something else. It’s the first time I have done anything with 4wd since my purchase a couple months ago. I didnt have any luck on locating the intermittent popping sound I get, but I came away impressed with the abilities it has in stock form with no locker.
Decent flex and 31s actually got me a bit further than I expected.

Those look comfy, but wouldn't those get filled with dust? I know if I had them in my 3 I would destroy them after one day of wheeling

They are very comfortable!!! They do get dusty but nothing that a good shake down won't fix. I have also washed them a couple time. Great material!

Just dropped the H3 off at the dealer for the blower motor recall (previous owner had not done it),as well as the electrical issues I have been having with my dome lights and mirrors.

3 months after doing the blower motor recall, my ac blows hot air if I have the thermostat turned anywhere other than max cold. I dont know if this is related!

Mine has same issue, only get hot air if its not on max cold. Took it in for the recall thinking it was related and would all be solved, but it wasn’t.

Other comment I had is that the AC now blows air louder than it did before the recall, I was told that the new resistor is larger to disperse more heat, and that its located in the vent, which means the air has less space to pass through, therefore causing the louder blowing sound.

It doesn’t make much sense though, if I have the heater on, wouldn’t that work against cooling down the resistor?
Plus up until then I was pretty sure the part they replaced was closer to the 12v outlet near the bottom on the console, and not inside the vent.
