Don't forget the steering shaft, radiator shroud, ground straps, shifter cable, fuel fill tube, and wiring harnesses. All of these may need some tweaking after doing a body lift. Basically anything that jumps the gap between the body and the frame, should be checked and adjusted (or lengthened) to fit. Many times this just involves taking the item loose from the frame so it has more slack. Might need to make some filler panels for the bumpers too.

Would it be better to remove the body lift prior to doing the SAS? This way you don't have to play around with the steering shaft and you get a lower center of gravity? Just wondering.

For the center if gravity yes for the steering shaft u r dine I discovered that damn thing expands and contracts plenty I believe I have more pics of this in my build I believe, if not I'll dig some out I know me and cj spoke about this since I have the 1 inch body lift, but anyways imho the steering shaft it is good for u to run a 2 even a 3 inch body lift and you'll have no problems, but for anything greater than 1 inch u have to worry about radiator hose, shifter cable etc.

I had a fun time stripping the entire dash out down to the firewall to get access to my blown evaporator core...

All of that had to come out because of this hair-line crack

Heres the new non-leaking core in its new home

Went wheeling with my club, Ohio River Four Wheelers down at Wishbone Ranch in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

This was the hardest stuff I've ever done and was a little bit out of my league, so I bypassed a couple of the craziest trails. (One Jeep snapped a Dana 60, so these trails were wild.)

I had an absolute blast. The club is heading to Tennessee next month, so I hope I can make that trip, too.

Sounds like a good fun time.

That YJ in the line up looks gnarly, almost like a tractor.

Dude, that YJ was absolutely insane. It crawled every single trail without hesitation. Very nice rig.

Very cool, I'm not really all that excited by newer Jeeps but a well built YJ that is actually used has a sort of beauty to it. Like a well loved knife or the family rifle.

Man thats nuts!!
Might as well clean those sun roof drains and trim the internal tabs while you got it that stripped!! sure would make that job way easier when its like that!

I remember doing that job last year and scraping my hands on a whole bunch of things, and finally figured out what was in the way!

I installed a Magnaflow cat back system yesterday. I recently changed out the Air filter with a Predator/ Airaid intake and a Predator Raptorq PCU upgrade. I have to take to dealer today for a CASE relearn. This weekend I will put on Airaid throttle body spacer. I just turned 17,000 miles on my 06'!

I helped a guy do this (plus heater core and blend door actuator) in an F150 a while back. It ranks among the most PITA things I've had to do to a vehicle.

I'm not surprised, I honestly don't think the performance has changed at all with what I have done! Before the upgrades I would go 0 to 60 in 10.8 seconds, last night I went 0 to 60 in 10.8 seconds, This upgrade was a waste of money!

Man that job sucks!!!! I had to replace my heater core this past winter. Just got done last week pulling vacuum and replacing refrigerant for my a/c. Don't do what I did and screw up the reassembly of the blower assembly. My ac / heater blows out of my dash no matter what direction I turn it to now. :shame: I'm not going to fool with it until the core goes bad again. What a PITA.

I see you didn't have to take the seat out or the center console. I had to. I have an 06'. I wonder if they changed the design in the newer models to make it easier to work on the dash?

I wish you would have posted up a video of how you went about taking the entire dash apart. I have a lot of wiring to do behind one and don't have the foggiest of clues where to even begin.

Depending on where you're running wires, you shouldn't need to remove the entire dash. The radio/hvac bezel pops off easily and it's pretty open behind there, especially once you remove the radio. The drivers lower trim piece pops off easily enough as well, there's just a few screws along the bottom edge and then it pops off. And you can run wires easily enough from the bolt covers on top of the dash next to the windshield, there are already holes there and it's not too hard to route wires down from them or a fish tape and pull wires up. That will cover 90% of where you'd want to run wires to, and the other 10% probably aren't worth it.

If you really want to take it out though then just start by removing the radio/hvac panel and the driver's knee panel and then look for any bolts around the edge of the main dash peice. The three covers on the top hide those top bolts. I don't think there'll be that much else.
