Hey All -

So my driver side door handle stopped working over the winter and finally trying to address it now that the warm weather is here. The inside door handle seems to have stripped and in order for me to get out i have to wind down the window and open the door from the outside. Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced!

Is this for an H3? (I took a guess and moved it to the H3 section).

You need to remove the door panel. Usually it's a couple of screws under small hidden covers, and then careful prying around the door with a nylon pry tool like these: http://smile.amazon.com/TCBunny®-Po...&qid=1433651732&sr=1-1&keywords=door+pry+tool. You slide it around and pry wherever the door snaps are.

Once you pull off the panel, you might find a broken handle or something as simple as the interior rod fell off. Once you pull of the panel it should be obvious what's necessary.

There are two rods with balls on the ends that latch onto the door handle, one may have just popped off and in that case all you have to do is pull the panel and re attach it. Best of luck.

Hey guys so after popping the door panel off i see the bottom cable disconnected off the ball. I popped the ball off and didnt see a way to reattach it; does this mean i need to order a new cable? What would be the name of this cable? For some reason my pictures arent uploading

Hard to know what you're talking about, check and make sure you're being hosted by tapatalk when you go to add a picture, should be under where your typing when you scroll the keyboard down.

Without the ball/barrel on the end of that cable there is nothing to attach to the actuating mechanism. You need a new cable. In the meantime, you could probably rig it using one of those screw-locking ferrules that from a bicycle brake cables. Of course, if that works you may forget to order a new cable and then when the "fix" breaks still be in need of a new cable.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try them and let you know. I dont see anywhere selling the cable alone , all i find are the full lock actuator kit whick i dont feel like dishing out $150 right now.
