Good day all. I've been tossing this around and see a few H2 rigs done. Anyone do a H3 yet??

Thoughts???

I've been kicking the idea around. Not a full exo, but running the tubing along the fender flares as fender flares and tying them in to the bumpers and sliders. Might have to go over the top and tie in to a flat, full coverage roof rack.

Its a serious added wgt and drag to put on an H3; especially a 5-cyl.

I have the idea of adding a "hybrid cage" it's partial interior partial exterior.

If you google XJ hybrid cage you will see what I'm talking about. It's tight to the body and partially internal.

The pros to this is if you roll an h3 or any non removable top vehicle you ruin the vehicle as the roof smashes into the cage. A hybrid cage has the strength of an interior cage but also keeps the roof in better condition then an interior cage

I don't think weight will be a huge issue. Maybe 150 to 200 lbs. even lighter if it chromoly. Drag will be a factor for sure but it's no race car lol. When I added the rack it was surly noticeable

Like RSC I want to do an Aussie style, fender only roll bars. Problem is our rear door fenders are split making rear bars complicated or funny looking.

Completely removing the rear doors and building the missing fender portion with tubing would look nice. Maybe use a zip up plastic door in the back and tube half doors up front? Jeep style would look good.

Now you have my curiosity up. Can't wait to see what you have in mind.

I dident notice a thing with the Predator SAR brush guard and Gobi stealth rack. I'm getting things around for another rack and guard not sure yet if I will tie it all in or not but I like the idea.

My plan is to start off with a raw unpainted SAR brush guard. I will tie into the SAR and follow the fender line down to the heavy duty and rock sliders. There will be a front windshield loop tied in at the fender/door area. Top bars running down each side with mounts to the rack rails. Then it will run down the back side and attach to the frame. Will also do a top loop bar. For the rear I will come off the rock sliders out just past the fenders and follow the fender line like the front. Door will have no problem opening. Then I will box around the rear windows. And of course a custom rack and ladder. [emoji3]

Ok now I just need to make it happen. Lol
