'06 Base Model H3. Currently away from my baby at the moment. Was wondering if anyone knew exactly what I need and how to remove the Nerf Bars? Never really liked how they look, and they're close to gettin in the way of my tires. Any help is appreciated! Thanks brothers.

I have my nerf bars still on my 3 just cause theyre providing a little bit of protection to the body until I can get my hands on some rockers. But if you still wanna take them off, it's as easy as undoing a few bolts. I'd suggest picking up some liquid wrench to help loosen it up or using a breaker bar, the bolts are VERY tight.

As everyone said, its a couple of bolts on each support. You will be surprised how light the nerf bars are once they come off!

Careful about that "protection". When nerf bars take a hit, they tend to bend and end up jamming against a tire.

That's very true, i went out to Rausch Creek to wheel and my nerf bars kept holding me back. They kept bending and hitting the tires, i had to have people pull the bars forward with thier truck. I am keeping them on until i invest into a good rock slider

PB Blaster in the Economy size. I am now a couple weeks in of soaking them and have 10 of 12 finally broken loose. Be patient and careful as you can easily snap the bolts of screw up the threads. Been there, done that when removing them once before.

My wife likes the nerf bars on her tbar-cranked H3 on 35's because she's 5'1", but they come off for wheeling.

The N-Fab steps look good, but are just as weak as stock. The step portion still hangs down to catch on rocks and things.

When someone mentions adding/removing nerf bars, always consider their location in their profile! Those bolts can really be in there if you live in the rust belt or near any body of water. Sometimes most of them will come right out and the you will have 1 or 2 that take days...
