Hi-tech decision - Daystar dash organizer or nonslip pad?

Need someplace to set my phone and sunglasses down. I like the idea of nonslip dash pad because it won't collect junk and dirt as I think the Daystar tray will. Not for the trail, of course. Any experiences? I'm also looking for recommendations for a simple iPhone 4S holder for when I want to use its GPS.

I've tried both and like the Daystar better.
I've had my Daystar for years and is stayed in place even while off roading.
If it helps there's plenty of room for both up there

Panavise H3 mount with Bracketron phone/GPS holder. Sunglasses in Daystar tray.

i like the day star, and I use something similar to what recon uses for the phone. different brand, but about the same. i've used panavise before and they work.

Daystar and panavise without hesitation. Also mounted my dash cam to the Daystar, perfect centered view to record all the mayhem on the road.

I went daystar & Pro-Clip... Looks similar to Recon's setup ( same same but different)

there are little tabs that click into some holes in the dash. it's pretty well thought out. mine's never come loose, but it's not like you have to use a hammer to get it in or out.

Phone holder - iOttie products that you can find on Amazon. Sticky suction cup mount so they adhere to our textured dash, but are removable. If the sticky parts gets dirty - just wash it with water.

I just got this one for my Note4 but it says it will accomodate the 4S. There's a chart at the bottom of the page showing the different models of holders. This is my second one - one for home, one for rental cars that I keep in my travel kit. http://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Holder...ie=UTF8&qid=1420517829&sr=1-1&keywords=iottie

The Daystar tray just belongs with the hummer. Whatever else you do is cool but once you put in the daystar organizer you will just see it as part of the car.

Install the Daystar, cut up non slip pad for each cubby, and that way nothing slides and you can peel it out to clean it of debris collection.

I have day star dash kit but for my sunglasses I bought a thing that clips to the mirror flap that folds down... Works well and is secure. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about

I have the daystar as well... my non-slip pad? is now in the daystar to keep crap from rattling. The non-slip pad is pretty much useless in a 4x4

one thing about the daystar - it only clips in once, mine is now held down with a couple cable ties to the vents
