As some of you may know ive been back in the market for my second H3. Being given the opportunity to learn some lessons (the hard way) the first time around, i think the second time will be better. That being said i plan to go a little bit different direction with my second 3, i plan to get the color i wanted from the beginning, i would like to get a 3.7L this time, ill be chopping off the muffler again, learned from the previous hummer that muffler delete sounds awesome, i know what lighting im going to be doing, im going going to stick with 33s instead of 35s etc. So the whole point of this thread is, if given another go with a bone stock hummer would you build it up the same as your last one? would it be better or worse? what would you do differently, what would you do to the new one having learned from the old one.

I would still go for a all white Alpha T, I wouldn't Super Charge it, I would keep it down to 35's with a T bar crank high clearance leaf spring mounts with the 2'' extended shackles, hidden winch mount... maybe a Day Star 1'' body lift, UCP and Sliders.... Then wheel!

nope...no regrets. I would do it all over again the same way except for the trial and error such as
-I wouldnt of wasted time with rancho and deavers leafs I should of done a SOA right away
-I also wasted 2 years of driving on rancho shocks which I regret. The ride is so much better with bilsteins
-I love my roof rack, If I did it again I may go stealth but at the same time I probably wouldnt.

I regret not doing more research and knowing what the adventure/off road package was but other than that I'm happy with the way things are going though it's too early in the modding stage to regret doing anything

ohh yea I agree with the above. Didn't do enough research and didn't know anyone with an h3 that knew about the adventure package. The dealer I talked to at one time was all about selling me chromed hummer and couldn't understand that's not what I wanted so I didn't buy from him.

Only thing I wish I have gone different might be the h3 Alpha they were selling for about 8-9 k more than what my H3 was listed for...however that's thought only has surface recently since I wish I had the extra power the v8 offer...however other than that I'm happy how I built mine so far and everything...Me and my truck have a really good and close relationship...(my wife has caught me talking and patting on her dashboard every now and then) DONT JUDGE ME !!!

I wanted an H3 manual, but couldn't find one when I bought mine in Dec '05. Can't regret not getting a V8 since they weren't offered. But, not unhappy with the auto :)

I would never recommend going with an '06 Zach unless the damn thing had a V8 swap. Matter of fact I'd be glad to see all '06's get engine swaps, man those things are just too gutless to enjoy.
I've been humoring (back of my mind) H3's and what I'd do differently. It would need to be exact same package as my 06 (birch white, Morocan interior, chrome mirrors, handles and wheels, Adventure/w locker) but I'd want it in an Alpha with front and rear lockers, thinking it would need to be a 10 model. Did the offer that interior with Alpha Adventure in 10?

Maybe you need to get treatment for your chrome love affair . . . It will lighten the load significantly. Come out west and do a run with Chris and myself. You will see what the 3.5L can do.
