so after much consideration, ive decided duratracs are a good tire for my needs ands the varying conditions here in the Midwest. ive been trying to balance on road handling, off road handling for mild-intermediate trails, snow and ice handling, overall weight, etc.... I feel like these are a good blend for all of these... pretty aggressive for an AT. among some of the lighter 35" tires. good on snow and ice. good off road. not the best in full on mud but they aren't a MT... can anyone with these on a stock suspension H3 post pics.... ive seen H3Slates and they look pretty darn good... anyone else running these in a 35"?

Ordered Duratrac's yesterday. Excited to get them. Will arrive Friday. Would love to get them on ASAP but won't be able to get them on until next week when H3 goes in for an exhaust mod as well.

Did you go with 35s? If so, where did you get them? Cheapest I've seen so far was $1412 to my door from tirerack. Not sure if that was with replacement vouchers or not...

You will love the duratracs, I have mostly great things to say about them. They wear well, good in mud amazing in snow, great on the street and decent on rocks. My complaint is that as I have progressed to tougher trails I have killed 2 sidewalls. One was my fault, driving like rod hall through a sandy wash and clipping the edge of a rock the other was not, I was just climbing through a rock garden and slit the sidewall. Other then that I recommend them. My next set will be KM2s because they don't make duratracs in a small 37.

Ended up getting Duratrac 315/70/16's tires from discounttiredirect. Offered free shipping and price was less than local dealers in my area by better than $110.

Nice... I have their lil baby brothers on both of my trucks. Have been running Duratracs for 4 yrs now.. I love em. I also want the 35s but have had all replaced so they are like new. When I make my H3 just a pure trail/weekend rig, then I will get the 35's. Nice choice. Will be awaiting the pics.

KM2s were my next choice but they were more expensive and seemed like the duratracs were better on ice and snow. I'm not to where you are 06H3 with the level of trails I'll be doing at first. Hopefully they'll be a good set of tires to start with and as my skills improve, I'll find a need for a beefier tire. I do plan to do some road trips and don't wanna completely murder my mpg and on road handling. I understand I'm gonna lose some but hopefully a couple mods can keep the driveability up.... I may call discount tire and see what kind of deal the rep can give me over the phone.

When I saw the price difference on Duratracs vs. KM2s I thought about switching to the Duratracs to save about $70 per tire, but my KM2s have been so good to me I can't see a reason to change. 55,000 miles on them, though I only drive them to church on Sundays.

Sounds good. I did a lot of research outside of the forum and the Duratrac came up a winner for snow traction. Huge bonus for me in terms of accessing my cabin in WV after snow storms.

Overall I would recommend the duratrac digglesworth. Even now they do pretty good in the rocks, for an H3 having daily driving duties, sees rain and snow often and see a decent amount of time off pavement these are a great compromise. They are the best in snow and are decent or better in every other category.

I got my 5 315 Duratracs from discount tyre for $1305 mounted and balanced, tax title and license included. And they bagged up my 5 mudders and got them in the back of my 3 for the ride home. They are great all around tyres. Did real well with them in Moab. I have about 30K on them and plenty of tread left. I do a 5 tyre rotation every 4K miles or so. No feathering and they are still quiet.

One thing Discount did was minimize the weight needed by spinning the tyres on the rims to reduce the amount of weight needed. And instead of pounding on a large weight , they split the amount in half and put on 2 smaller weights. Smaller weights tend to stay on better and if you loose one , you've only lost half the weight. Tyres should stay balanced longer with trail usage.

Choosing tires is a hard process, and I have commitment issues. That's why I'm still sitting on OEM 33"s.
