Oh man.... Not this again.... The last thread about this got pretty heated.... There's arguments supporting the pros and cons of each brand.... Personally, I think I'm gonna go with the OD kit.

I didn't see any recent post or wasn't payin attention...:corn: If it gets to heated or has all been said before, Alrock can pull the thread and I could do the research. We are all one freakin happy family here and I hate it to when, the same things get said over an over again...

it was a while ago. There are 3 kits....Mayhem metals works, scorpworks and outfitter design. Scorpworks is the vendor here the other two are not. everyone has said good things about each one.

I haven't seen anything negative from people running any of them. I know more people running Dwaine's set up than any of them. No issues, everyone is happy. Steve I will go PCF when I need to do it.

Both my dad and myself have been running the mayhemmetal works kit and zero issues. I know a bunch of guys on 355nation are running mayhem kit also.

I did a full write up on my steering soo you can see what is involved in the mayhem metal works and basically the OD kit just search my posts. PCF has one less step.

I installed an Outfitter Design kit on a customer's H3. It was a low-mileage (50K) Alpha, and had never been off-roaded. Amazing how loose & sloppy the steering was, considering it's grocery-getter duty. The shipping was fast. Installation was a breeze. Steering improvement was drastic and immediate. Thats all I got.

The Scorpworks steering rack bracket, like the one I have on my T, is unique in its OEM-like floating design and has been very well-tested on- and more importantly, off-road, by a large group of H3/H3T owners with 0 issues. It' s great that we have choices and I'm very happy with mine. In the end, it's your money and your choice on how you spend your money.

Bigunit, without starting too much controversy, what is the reasoning behind the "floating" aspect which is designed into the oem as well as the scorpworks?

after much clanking around, i removed the steering rack clamp that I think one of the H4O guys made in his shop. Who was that guy again? Anyway, it worked great for a while and then got really loose. For those interested, a 2008 Toyota Tundra steering rack bushing bolts right in place and fits perfect. $11 at your local auto parts store.

That seems so random, how did you figure that one out!!?? haha

I know I want to put a kit on my T in the near future, I haven't been able to determine a pro or con the separates any from the pack as of yet....

The H3 community has had great things that have come of this:
-Options! WE GOT THREE TO CHOOSE FROM!!:horns:
-No bad reviews thus far for any of the 3 options!!

I just installed my Scorpworks bracket about a month ago. Not a difficult install, just time consuming. I am happy with the results, other than I scratched the red anodizing starting the allen head with a small pliers. Space is very tight, I ended up cutting down a allen wrench to fit. Key is to take your time and if you haven't done the front diff crossmember upgrade, now is the time to do it.

Yea I'm need of replacing mine it's pretty bad. When the steering wheel is turned all the way to either side, a quarter before the end the steering feel dead and the wheels are going to fall out. It's so bad I try not to turn the wheel all the way if I don't need to and tonight I jump under the T and grab a rocked the hell out of it with my hand. I think I'll go with Scorpworks because I'm not in mood to take out the rack and jack up my steering (no more free alignments). Just need to build up the cash for one.

This made a world of difference on mine. Once I put it on, it felt bullet proof. And trust me, I wheeled my H3 real hard and never had any issues

I'll buy that for a dollar . I still have the photos of the rack split apart in a prefect circle.

I'm not familiar with the other two steering rack brackets, but I am familiar with scorpworks. I have Dwaine's steering rack bracket and the front diff, cross member bushing, as well. Both went in with no problems. Although, I did have to call Dwaine, while installing the cross member with a question he answered quickly. Both upgrades made a big difference in my H3. If Dwaine developes any other upgraded parts, I will probably be buying them.
