I did search some older threads but I didn't see what I thought was what I did last time:

Chock front wheels

Jack up rear end, put jack stands on the frame once the rear tires are off the ground and leaf springs are at full drop

support the differential 'just slightly' with a jack

proceed to remove bolts and replace the shackles one at a time?

Just don't want to die or break anything. Thanks guys.

I think you got it right. One note I'd add, I'll reassemble the nuts/bolts to be slightly snug, but drop it back on the tires to ride height before I tighten/torque them.

Here's a decent video. According to this guy, torque spec for nuts is 63 ft lbs.

I think you were looking for this:

1) Collect 2 roots of the BitterRoot plant
2) Gather 4 stalks of fresh sage
3) Acquire mini H3 model (Hotwheels of any SUV/Truck will suffice)
4) Purchase a length of clean white ribbon, (new). 12-14" length will do.
5) Purchase 1 small candle (battery powered LED candle will work)

Pre-shackle removal process:
Arrange the sage on ground near rear of vehicle Prior to beginning shackle work. Arrange such that the sage leaves cover a 6"x6" area. Place white ribbon on top of sage. On top of ribbon, place minerature H3 model, with candle in front of it. Place both roots behind H3 model so they form a 'cross'. Secure tools necessary for project. Prior to bushing removal project, light candle and make silent prayer to the bushing pin gods for easy shackle bolt removal. Take 3 deep breaths, bow to the west (for good luck), Then begin shackle pin removal. Keep BFH, Oxy/Acetylene torch and a couple beers handy ...just in case.

Jerk haha I'll move forward with what I initially thought was an easy task. Let's pray the nuts and bolts don't fight me.
