Also turned one of my broken CV axles into a mace for when the zombies come.

It's pretty obvious when coolant and lubricant mix (milkshake vs a soda) and it doesn't take long at all for that to happen, so if both fluids look normal then you're fine. The transmission fluid will rise to the top of the radiator, and the transmission fluid cycles through the transmission pretty quickly so it's not like coolant will be hiding in there, especially if you drop the pan.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I am pretty sure I lucked out on this one, and if had driven it, the distance was about 1.5 miles to get a Christmas tree.

Right now she’s in my garage with a new power steering pump and hose line to rack and pinion.

Waiting on the new radiator (I went with the OEM manual transmission model) and a transmission cooler.

Also waiting on other parts and changing fluids, cleaning and painting some surface rust or chipped paint and that sort of thing.

I hit a deer that was laying down in the road when I was going 85mph.

Direct hit to my passenger tire. It scared the crap out of me. I thought I surely ruined the front end. But it kept on driving straight and smooth for the last hour and half of my trip.

So apparently an H3 with 35s and fox shocks can run over a deer at 85mph and remain unscathed lol.

In the middle of pulling the front and rear axles to drop off at Randy's R&P and let them setup the new gears that have been collecting dust all year. Will replace the rack bushings at 110k and add an air lift to the rear, thank you Rancho for soft springs, while everything is out of the way. Adding a new HP tune at the same time so in theory with 4.56 and a better tune it should be able to get out of its own way on the interstate sometime next week.

Hoping to have the rest of the funds and details worked out for the LS swap by end of summer. Would like to overhaul the TC and put in a Monster trans while its all apart.

No good comes from staring at an LS3 on a stand for another half year, you start getting dumb expensive daydreams about how great a supercharger would look on top of it.

If I may say 4.56 will be too much with an LS3 even with 35s. I have 4.10s and first gear WOT are rare due to the truck not being able to stay in one place. Hoping 37s in the future will tame it down abit.

Change my mega fuse and drop in the 240amp alternator again...so far no battery light on, so guess the old mega fuse got messed up somehow. Old alternator still good will keep it as a spare part with 108 miles I don't think it has much life left in it.

Picked up a low profile bed rack from a Colly to fool around with. Might try and find a used Gobi to chop up and mount on it or maybe a Rhino platform. Grabbed an extra set of H3 roof tracks to mount on the roll tonneau so the whole thing should just slide right off the back when I need height in the bed for hauling something.

Missed the exit on the way home the other night, as I pulled over to figure out the confusing diversion, my tire caught the support of a large temporary street sign that was extending past the curb. The sign smashed onto the front of the hood (Thor’s hammer style), recoiled around the front end and got stuck between the tire and the bumper. I reversed out of my situation, dragged the bent and mangled sign a few feet before the 3 would let it go.

Went down to see the damage.. nothing! Puzzled but ain’t complaining. God bless Hummer.

I know that I've had this issue with my leaf springs squeaking on and off since I bought my H3, going to try this after my next run to see how it works. Figured I'd share this with y'all since I'm sure it's common

http://www.brakeandfrontend.com/tech-tip-gm-squeaky-rear-springs-silverado-colorado-express-savanna/

Also, I have a lot of updates to share here very soon. Just need to find the time to sit down and type it all up
Mine were squeaking as well, i sprayed the snot out of it with garage door lubricant. It took a while but theyve finally quieted down.

Installed a new dome light switch for the rear door. It’s the little things...
